About
Me, Basically
10 Random Things
I have a deep appreciation for humour, particularly the witty kind. I do the occasional stand-up. Sometimes they go well.
Borderline cricket obsessed. Yes, I'm Indian. The two facts are related.
I root for Max Verstappen, Novak Djokovic, Rahul Dravid, and Lionel Messi — because why pick one sport to be invested in?
I try to learn something new every single day and seek out experiences I haven't had before. Not a resolution, just how I'm wired.
I genuinely believe change is the only constant and I find that more exciting than terrifying.
Innovation, creativity, and communication are what make us distinctly human. I try to bring all three to whatever I'm working on.
The internet is my rabbit hole. I open one article and resurface three hours later having somehow ended up on the Wikipedia page for 14th-century Byzantine architecture. No regrets.
The finance brain never fully clocks out I can't watch a cricket match, visit a hotel, or try a new restaurant without mentally running the unit economics. It's a blessing and a curse - mostly a blessing.
Perpetually planning the next trip There's always a destination on the horizon.
Bald by choice - I made peace with my hairline early. Life's too short to mourn what's gone, better to own it and move on.
The tooting my own horn section
I've built my career across an unusually eclectic range of industries — brand management (launching and scaling brands), fund management, fundraising, media licensing, and business consulting. The kind of CV that raises eyebrows at dinner parties but makes for a genuinely interesting career.
What ties it all together? I learn fast, take ownership seriously, and have somehow become fluent in the art of getting things done in matrixed organisations without losing my mind.
At the core of it all, I'm a finance person. I approach every role — whatever the industry — with an eye on maximising financial performance. I also have an odd fondness for spotting connections across seemingly unrelated fields. Call it cross industry pattern matching. Or, if you must, "synergies" (yes, I hate that word too).
Formally:
· By education - Economics from Delhi University, a CFA, and an MBA from the National University of Singapore.
· By work – Director of Focused Service Brands (South Asia) at Hilton
Outside office hours
Lifelong learner is one of those phrases people use without meaning — I genuinely mean it. I'll read about almost anything, and I'm always up for a conversation that goes somewhere unexpected. New ideas and fresh perspectives keep me going.
When I'm not working, you'll find me on a racquet court, running (a relatively new hobby), watching cricket, poking around Bengaluru's surprisingly vibrant community scene, or falling down YouTube rabbit holes.
